Clean outs
After a cold winter, every pond is in need of a little extra love. We offer cleanouts at $225 per hour with a two-hour minimum and will get your pond beautiful again and ready for the rest of the year. Cleanouts can be done yourself, but it can be a very time-consuming process if you do not have the right equipment.
The cleanout process will be a little different for each water feature. If you have a typical pond with waterfall we will drain some water into a large tub to put your fish in, if you have fish, carefully remove the fish from the pond and into the container. After that, we will drain the rest of the pond water out. We then begin to power wash the entire pond including any stream beds, waterfall rocks and of course the bottom of the pond itself. We will ensure everything is clean before we refill the pond. We will test all the pumps and filters to ensure everything is working correctly. We will then put your fish back into their pond and add the appropriate water treatments.
Winterization
As another year with your water feature comes to an end, and things get colder, your water feature needs to be prepared. If you do nothing, it is almost a guarantee your equipment will break, and your fish may die. It is a straightforward process, but one we are happy to help with.
To winterize a pond, the pump must be taken out and (depending on the type of pump) placed in a bucket of water and brought inside. Any UV lights or Biofilters must be drained and unplugged. If you have fish, a deicer needs to put in the water as well as aeration if one is not already present.
Another service we offer is to trim back your plants. If plants get overgrown, they can cause damage to your equipment and liner. They also may not come back the next year if not taken care of. We remove any overgrown plants to encourage new growth the following year and trim back healthy plants.
The price on our winterization calls is $175 per hour, for two people, with a one hour minimum. If there are three people there, it is $225 per hour. How many people are needed will be determined by how much work needs to be done.
